Bill will be dearly missed by his children Julia (David), Dorothy (Gary), and Nora, twelve adored grandchildren and six great grandchildren as well as friends and colleagues. He was predeceased by his loving wife Jacci of 66 years, by his parents Peter and Zetta MacLeod and his brother Jack.
Bill was born and schooled in Englehart, Northern Ontario. He enjoyed tennis, swimming and baseball in the summer and skiing and curling in the winter. In his last year of High School he skipped his team to victory at the Temiskaming and Northern Ontario High School Boys Curling Bonspiel. He received a B.A. (Hons) in Honour Science at the University of Toronto and his M.S. from the School of Engineering at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. Bill was a Life Member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). He was a Heritage Member of the Calgary Winter Club where he enjoyed curling, squash and tennis. Bill retired after working for over 35 years in the oil industry. He worked as a Consultant and later as an employee of Chevron and Petro-Canada. Bill’s work carried him to many parts of the world. Bill and Jacci lived in Jamaica and later with their family in Libya and Australia before resettling back in Canada. He travelled on business to the USA and to many countries in South America and South East Asia. Bill and Jacci liked to travel and to see many interesting places on the planet. Jacci’s keen interest in birding took them to many parts of the world to see different bird species. Together they had travelled to more than 40 countries. Bill attended many evening classes at SAIT which led to many interests and hobbies. Through his woodworking classes he built many home furnishings. He loved working on cars, particularly BMC Minis. Bill enjoyed cooking and baking at home. His friends and family enjoyed his yearly Christmas cinnamon bun wreaths. Above all, Bill loved his family and was very proud of their accomplishments.
