William (Bill) Reginald Chapman passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre on May 21, 2016, at the age of 91 years. Bill is survived by his sister, Margery Chapman, his sons; Brent and Scott (Kelly), grandson Kurtis (Jillian) and his grandchildren; Alec and Maggie. He was predeceased by his wife, Laura. Bill was born in Manitoba and later moved to Alberta with his parents and siblings. Bill ranched for a short period in the Empress area. In 1954 he became a journeyman carpenter. Following working in that industry, he returned to school and obtained his Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta. Bill married Laura Haynes on December 30, 1959. He then taught mathematics and industrial arts until retirement. After retirement, Bill and Laura maintained a hobby farm just outside of Calgary which they both thoroughly enjoyed. Bill was a kind and patient man who will be greatly missed.
