It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Wayne William Whittaker on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the age of 68 years. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and love. Wayne was born in Drumheller Alberta, October 16, 1952 to Dorothy (Christensen) and Glen Whittaker. Wayne is survived by his beloved wife Rosemarie and his loving daughter Janelle Whittaker (Jason Brock); grandchildren Emma-Grace and Isabella Whittaker; and siblings Frances (Doug) James, Harold (Linda), Martin (Shantel Thompson), Max, Bonnie Giannoulis, Don (Melanie), half-sister Viola (Lawrence) Sorokan and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, son Colin, brother-in-law Leo Giannoulis (Bonnie) and sister-in-lawDiane Whittaker (Max).
Wayne met Rosemarie while attending the University of Calgary and were married in 1975. He Graduated with a BSC and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Alberta. Wayne was a kind, caring, and compassionate man especially when it came to his love for dentistry, where he bonded with friends and family and built strong everlasting memories throughout his years in practice. When asked what his favourite procedure to do in dentistry was he said, "I love talking to my patients and explaining options", because really what he loved to do most was chat! Wayne had a beautiful and loving Christian faith and was very active at the Corpus Christi Parish as a choir member and other ministries of the church. He had a great big heart and a fantastic sense of humour where his smile, jokes and laughter would light up any room. He will be greatly missed by all those that were blessed to know him; especially his wife and family whom he cherished the most. In respecting Wayne's wishes there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Kidney Foundation of Canada (https://kidney.akaraisin.com/ui/generaldonation/donations/start). Our heart hurts today, tomorrow and forever; and know this is not a goodbye, but we will see you later. We love and miss you now and forever. Until we meet again Dad May you Rest In Peace.
