Võ Văn Tám passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, AB on the morning of Friday, November 10, 2017 at the age of 84 years. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his ex-wife Hà Thị Nhung; his oldest daughter, Võ Hà Kim Tiên and her husband, Kiệt Lê; his son Võ Quang Vinh and his wife, Betty Wong-Vo; his youngest daughter, Võ Hà Thanh Thanh and her husband, Chris Wijns; his 2 granddaughters, Chloe Lê and Olivia Lê; his 4 grandsons Marcus Võ, Lucas Wjins, Oliver Wijns, and Max Wijns; and numerous relatives and friends. Tám was born in Trà Vinh, Vietnam on January 2, 1933. He started up and ran a successful Fiat car dealership in Vietnam. Once Tám immigrated to Canada, he went back to school at the age of 54 and eventually worked as a sous-chef at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, BC. Tám enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved to fish whenever he could. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery), on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 2:30 p.m., visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, www.alzheimer.ca.
