Ronald W. (Woody) O’Bray passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on July 25, 2020 at the age of 92 years. Woody will be lovingly remembered by his son Ron O’Bray; his daughter Sharon (Barry) Ahlstrom all of Calgary; and his daughter Susan (Les) White of Coronation. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ryan, Aaron and Brenna Ahlstrom and his sister Darlene (Ray) Boffey of Utah. Woody was predeceased by his wife Anne in 2011.
As a long-distance truck driver, dad loved being on the open road, travelling across Canada and the United States. If you ever needed to know how to get somewhere, dad could tell you exactly how to get there. He had a fondness for western movies, watching wrestling on TV and walking in Fish Creek Park.
Thank you to the Foothills Hospital emergency room staff and the nursing staff on Unit 61 for their care in dads’ final days. With deepest appreciation, we also wish to thank the staff at AgeCare Seton, especially Cranston East, for their dedication and compassion while caring for our father.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Woody’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to a charity of your choice.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private family service will be held.
