Renate Schoof passed away peacefully at Chinook Hospice in Calgary, AB on Friday, May 5 2017 at the age of 82 years. She was born in Flensburg, Germany on October 18, 1934, came to Canada in 1956 and married in 1957. After starting a family and raising three boys, she went to work for Woodwards Foodfloor until her retirement. Renate enjoyed Flames and Stampeder games, loved family dinners, a nice German beer and all the cake and donuts Brentwood Co-op had to offer. Oma is survived by her three sons, Mark, Harry (Renea), and Robert; as well as her four grandchildren, River, Kennedy, Jessica and Joshua. She was predeceased by her husband Walter in 2005. A Celebration of her Life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, www.heartandstroke.ca or to the Calgary Food Bank, www.calgaryfoodbank.com.
