Randy William White passed away peacefully on May 29, 2020 at the age of 59. Randy fought a courageous battle with a lengthy illness, he spent the past 20 months at Peter Lougheed and Foothills hospital struggling to recover from surgery. Eventually he lost his battle while putting in a monumental effort to survive. Randy loved dogs and was especially fond of German Shepherds, he lived for them and they returned the love. From an early age he had a passion for drag racing. He was a crewmember for his father when he was 10 years old and continued in the sport until he eventually won a NHRA Divisional Championship in Super Comp in 1989. He continued his passion of racing to the very end and established hundreds of close friends in the sport. Randy travelled Canada and USA as a trucker, always with his dogs by his side. He had many hobbies, including car racing, oil painting, building models, and collecting Die Cast cars. While in the hospital he looked forward to hearing from his stepdaughter Samantha and her children Oscar and Margaret. They knew him as Papa, and would often send him artwork and videos. Randy is survived by his parents Dawn and Art, sister Laura (Allan) and their children (Lynsey and Landon), Robbie (Erin) and their children (Blaine and Brady). A special thank you to the physiotherapists at Peter Lougheed, Maureen Tosh and Maddy Hayley who worked hard to get him back up on his feet again. And to all the ICU staff for their exceptional care. A private family time of remembrance will be held. Should family and friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Calgary Humane Society.
