Randall Randy John Schmidt

November 1, 1964 - March 18, 2015

Randall John Schmidt was born November 1, 1964 in Banff, Alberta and passed away suddenly on March 18, 2015 in Dangriga, Belize at the age of 50 years. Randy attended school in Calgary and Athabasca. He worked as a Sheet Metal Mechanic in Slave Lake where he obtained his Journeyman Certificate. For the last 20 years he was an HVAC businessman and developer in Sundre. Randy is lovingly remembered by his 4 children of Slave Lake: Cindy (Kevin) Williams, Jackie Schmidt, John Schmidt and Tyler Schmidt (Haley Brule); five grandchildren: Cyrus, Roxanne, Renea, Kolby & Peyton; mother Erna Schmidt of Calgary; three Brothers: Glenn (Lisa) Schmidt of Cambridge Massachusetts, Garry (Melanie) Schmidt of Calgary, Corey Schmidt of Blue Ridge; two Sisters Sandra (Philip) Swan of Athabasca and Lauri McDonald (Frank McCullough) of Edmonton; as well as numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his father George Allan Schmidt in August 2013. A Celebration of Randy’s Life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 100-119 14 St Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6.
