Phyllis Verna Cooper

1928 - 2012

Phyllis Verna Cooper passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, October 11, 2012 in Calgary, AB at the age of 83 years. Phyllis was predeceased by her loving husband, Ronald Boyd Cooper; parents, Bessie and Mid Burke and Archie and Agnus Kennedy as well as sisters, Marjorie and Joyce. She was a loving sister to Leola Reinhart, Carolyn Bushfield and Pat Teichgrab. Phyllis was the beloved mother of Gary (Andrea) Cooper, Lynn (Terry) Galvin, Sharon (John) Beson, Janice (John) Devaney, Shelley (Kevin) McEachern, and Ronnalea (Brian) Hamman; cherished grandmother of Lisa, Angela, Steven, Amber, Kelsey, Clinton, Preston, Melissa, Kevin-Michael, Ethan and Nina in addition to fifteen great grandchildren. She will be truly missed and fondly remembered for her terrific sense of humor, playful spirit and zest for life. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, October 14 from 7 – 9 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL on Monday, October 15 at 3:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta, 10531 Kingsway Ave, Edmonton AB T5H 4K1 or Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 29 St NW, Calgary, AB T2N 4N2.
