Peter was born in Ilford, Essex, England, on December 17, 1930. After the war, Peter worked on British merchant ships before immigrating to Canada in 1957. There, he served 3 years as quartermaster with CP Ferries on the Vancouver to Alaska run.
Peter was passionate for travel and geography. His most memorable adventure was being shipwrecked off the coast of Namibia in 1964. More than just outward experiences, his travels instilled in him and in his family an understanding of other cultures and a respect for other people. Fair and principled, gentle in soul, kind in spirit, Peter’s generosity was well known to the many who knew him.
Peter is lovingly remembered by his ex-wife, Monique; his son, Andrew; his sister, Ann; his two brothers, Paul, and Phillip; several nieces and nephews; as well as his two best friends, Claude and Garry.
At Peter’s request, no formal service will be held. He will be laid to rest in England, to be next to his family of origin. If friends should wish, memorial donations may be made directly to the Canadian Red Cross or to Operation Eyesight Universal.
