Peggy Craven passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on Mother’s Day. She is lovingly remembered by her son Bob, (Joan); her granddaughter Susan (Brendan); grandson Jim (Jennifer) and two great grandsons Noah and Carter; her brothers John (Martha), Gordon and Ozzie as well as sisters-in-law Doris Craven, Lenore Cousins and Mardelle Craven-Robson. Peggy was predeceased by her husband George, in December 2009; infant daughter Darlene; sister, Mary; brothers Charlie, Duncan and Cyril. Peggy grew up in Medicine Hat and moved to Calgary once she met George. She worked in various retail positions and at Safeway for twenty-five years. She loved to play games and belonged to a bridge club for many years. Peggy was known for hosting delicious meals for her family and George’s family. She never missed one of Bob’s games and happily attended Susan and Jim’s various activities. Later she enjoyed playing cards and board games with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to dance, watch the Blue Jays, listen to country music and visit with her friends. A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made directly to Bethany Care Society, 916 – 18A Street NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1C6.
