They had three children, David (Sue) Rubak, Karen (Terry) Sanderson, and Linda Rubak. Paul's nephew, Stephen Wacolchik, joined the family when he was 16 years old and has lived with Paul and June to this day. Paul said that he and June would not have been able to live in their home without Steve's help. Paul had seven grandchildren, Chris and (Paula) Rubak, Trevor (Leigh) Rubak, Danny Sanderson (Cheryl House), Cody (Kristy) Sanderson, Carin (Tim) Wyatt Rubak, Ryan Rubak and Amanda (Steve) Sanderson. He also had eleven great-grandchildren, Jesse, Shea, Brenden, Paul, Logan, Kiara, Falynn, Riley, Kyle, Zackery, Aidan, Boston and Easton.

Paul was employed at Canadian Freightways from July 1955, until 1993 ending his career as Vice President of Transportation and Director of Safety. Paul dedicated his life to the Trucking Industry and was involved in many Safety Orientated Programs with the A.M.T.A. and in 2019 he was presented with the American Truck Historical Associations "A Historian of the Industry Award". Paul was involved with the Alberta chapter of the American Truck Historical Association for 19 years. The History room was named after him in his Honor.
