Born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, she married Roy Girling in 1953 and lived a full life as wife and mother, all across Alberta, through his numerous RCMP placements.
Upon Roy’s retirement in 1972 they moved to Sooke, B.C. Mom never loved the ocean, but became an avid gardener and made many dear friends there.
Returning to Airdrie, AB in 2009, to be closer to her loving family, they made many new memories.
Anyone that was lucky enough to try her prune donuts never stopped raving about them.
Roy’s passing in 2011, and outliving all her siblings, life never seemed to have the same passion for her.
Mom leaves to mourn her sons Bill (Alary), Brad (Sue) and daughter Marci (Ted). Grandchildren Matthew (Leslie), Steve (Sydney), Marina (Taylor), and Cameron (Megan). Great granddaughters Ellie and Aurora added so much to her life, she could never hold them long enough.
An extra special thanks to those of you that assured mom was not alone in her final moments.
A private celebration of mom's life will held at a later date.
