Loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, engineer, professor, entrepreneur and overall bon vivant, Michael is survived by his wife Aura, his children Elena and Radu, and his grandchildren Olivia, Aiden and Brianna.
Born in Romania, Michael also lived in Algeria and France, before eventually settling in Canada. He spoke 6 languages (4 of them fluently) and loved to travel the world with his family. Throughout the course of his long life, he taught engineering courses on 4 continents.
He loved skiing, camping, riding his motorcycle, swimming, hiking, cooking, and had a passion for telling stories. He was a master storyteller. Even the nurses at the hospital didn’t escape without hearing a good story. He loved his family and friends and especially gathering with them over a good meal. These treasured meals and conversations often lasted late into the night.
He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Service held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., with visitation a half hour prior to service.
