Michael James Jaeger

It is with great sadness that we wish to announce the passing of our 30 year old son Michael ‘Mikey’ James Jaeger, on Sunday, June 4, 2017. Mikey was born in Edmonton Alberta on December 16, 1986, to Deborah Joan Kozaback and Erle Robert Jaeger. He moved to Calgary in 1997. He attended school first in Edmonton and then in Calgary. He excelled in any sport he tried, most notably soccer, swimming, snowboarding, fishing and hunting. He worked as a carpenter throughout Alberta. Wherever Mikey went he made friends easily and many of those friendships were with him his whole life. Mikey leaves behind his mother Deborah Kozaback, stepfather Jan Ykema, father Erle Jaeger, brother Marshal (Sara) Jaeger, nephew James, niece Lucy, and stepbrothers Chadwick (Kathrine), Cody (Karen), and Casey. He also leaves behind his uncles and aunts; David Kozuback (Cheryl), Becky Kuipers (Greg), Brad Kozuback (Charolette) Wayne Jaeger, Danny Jaeger; his grandparents Jim and Doris Jaeger and many cousins. He is predeceased by his grandparents John and Dora Kozuback. A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Spirit River Cemetery, in Spirit River, Alberta at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Recovery Acres (Calgary) Society, 1835 – 27 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta, T2T 1H2.
