Marlene Edith Sherman (nee Bright) passed away February 4, 2021 on her 76th birthday at the Peter Lougheed Hospital after a long battle with blood cancer, blood disease and many other health issues with her kidneys, liver, lungs and heart, which all seemed to begin after she contracted H1N1 and food poisoning in 2016.
Marlene or Mom Mar as she was known to many was born in North Battleford February 4, 1945 to Mary Catherine and John Bright. She was predeceased by her father and mother John and Mary Bright, sisters Erma Tingley and Diane Holmes and brothers Keith and Earl Bright, as well as John Frankie Angelini and Gary Sherman. Marlene is survived by close friend Ed Olfert; sons Carey Angelini and Shane Angelini (Lori Berarducci) and their children Darian Netter (Trevor Edwards) and Mathieu Berarducci; great-granddaughters Adalynn Grace Edwards and Delilah Frankie Edwards; sisters Norma Sangray and Bernice Ripka; special nieces Lynn Laycock and Carla Kuchma and their families as well as many other special family members and close friends.
Marlene will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was well known for her amazing talent of cooking the best food ever and being able to feed a crowd. She loved having her family over on Sunday’s for a feast.
The family would like to especially thank the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff in Unit 43 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital for their wonderful care of Mom.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Marlene’s memory directly to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
