Marilyn Joyce Reichert (nee Moore) passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 5th, 2017 at the age of 71. Marilyn will be sadly missed by her husband Dick, son Brad, daughter-in-law Annie and grandson Liam. Marilyn also leaves behind her much-loved brother Ronald, his wife Jeanette, nieces Mary, Carrie and Mindy, grandnieces Mackenzie and Madison of Washington State. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents Rowland and Eileen Moore. Marilyn followed her early fashion sense and trained as a hair stylist in 1966, a career she practiced and loved for over 50 years. She and her friend Bev Giroux owned and operated Keri’s Koiffures for more than 35 years. In those years, so many of Marilyn’s clients became true friends. Marilyn’s love of travelling took her to India, Hong Kong, China, Hawaii and Mexico. Her greatest joy was traveling with family and the light in her life, her grandson Liam, with special trips to Hawaii, Mexico and Disneyworld. Marilyn enjoyed simple pleasures visiting with friends and family; end of week socials with her colleagues; holiday celebrations; summer outings and dancing. Family, friends and others whose lives Marilyn touched are invited to a Memorial Service at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street NW, Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, September 12, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Ray Matheson officiating. If desired, a Memorial Donation may be made to Alberta Cancer Foundation (Lymphoma Research), 1331 29th St NW, Calgary, AB T2N 4N2.
