Maria Adelina Hernandez

Passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital on November 15, 2011 at the age of 85 years. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Estely, Ulises and Lucy, Elvy, Kelly (Jacqueline), Oscar Armando and Mili and Ryna. As well as her brothers: Rigoberto, Alonso and sister Zoili. She is also survived by her Grandchildren: Mario and Natalie, Wendy and Ernesto, Ivan and Karina, Carlos and Lisa, Betty and Vladimir, Carlos Ulises and Jenn, Karlita, Oscarito, Anita, Emily, Jacqueline Marie, Chris and Eli; also her Great Grandchildren: Wendita, Ivanna, Emmy, Kyla, Gabriela and Francis. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rodrigo and Elvira Hernandez Lila, her son Carlos, her brother Carlos Antonio and her sister Blanqui.

She was born in San Vicente, El Salvador on October 27, 1926. She acquired a Secretarial and Teaching Degree. She taught in different levels of Education. She married and raised six children, thirteen grandchildren and six Great Grandchildren.

She dedicated her life to teaching and serving her church and community as a member of different associations, as the Red Cross, Boys Scouts, Nursing Homes, hospitals and others. She became a retired teacher. She immigrated to Canada on 1992 with her family where she continued in some of her services.

Those relatives and friends wishing to pay their respects did so at a Visitation and Prayer on Sunday, November 20, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at Foster's Garden Chapel, 3220 4th Street N.W., Calgary.

Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, November 21, at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 2519 Edmonton Trail NE. Calgary. Interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery, 3219 4th Street N.W.,Calgary. Reception was held for family and friends at Foster's Garden Chapel immediately after.
