Maria Grazia Gentile

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beautiful daughter, sister, mother and grandmother, Maria Grazia Gentile (Pellegrino) on Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Dulcina Hospice at St. Marguerite Manor. Maria was born September 28, 1955 in Montagnola, Acri, Cosenza, Italy. Maria was always the life of the party and celebrated each holiday by dressing up in a costume or a new outfit she bought on one of her legendary shopping sprees. She was happiest when spending time with her family and friends and most especially the time spent with her beloved grandson Amari. In the last few months she took great comfort in her newest nephew baby Corbin and her puppy Maddy. Maria considered her friends a part of her family and she loved nothing more than sharing a meal or taking a vacation with them. She was always there to lend a shoulder to cry on or a helping hand. Maria will always be the light in our hearts. Maria was predeceased by her father Francesco and her infant siblings, Silvana and Giuseppe as well numerous aunts uncles and cousins in Canada and Italy. She is survived by her mother Gemma, her son Paul (Vanessa), her daughter Chantelle, her grandson Amari, her sisters Teresa (Pasquale) Imperato, Rosaria Pina Beaumont, Rosa Pellegrino and her brother Pasquale (Dany) Pellegrino as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to thank her medical team and the staff at the Dulcina Hospice. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation at Mother Mary Of The Redeemer Church, 1714, 14th avenue N.E. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 9:00 a.m., with the Funeral Services to follow at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow the service at Queen’s Park Cemetery Mausoleum, 3219 – 4 Street NW, Calgary, AB.
