I came to know Lou as a client and a friend, shortly after he moved to Strathmore.  I will miss the conversations that we had over the years. My condolences to his family

I knew Lou for a short time.but enjoyed his company while playing Canasta at The Senior Centre.  I will miss his  spontaneous conversation.  Sincere condolences.

My husband, Tom Letterick, and I worked with Lou at CIBC. We all called him 'Lou', well some called him 'Louie'. I worked with him in the Audit Department as did Tom. I think Tom may have also worked with Lou in a couple of branches. Tom died two years ago so I can't ask him.
Lou was a calm, affable man, liked by all of us.
I'm sorry to learn of his passing and know you will miss him greatly.

Louie….we’ve know each for over 40 years….and during that time, you have always been a good friend.  Technology was not always your friend but you did know how to send an email. Your whole note was sometimes captured in the “Subject” line….but you got your message in.  Golf was also not your friend.  One year in the annual CIBC golf tournament, you were awarded a tennis racket, with the message that maybe this would be a sport you were more suited to you. No way, golfing with you was always fun and entertaining and I wouldn’t have missed that for anything.   You were such a world traveller and I don’t know that many people who have enjoyed as many places in the world as you.  We’ll always remember your stories…your humour and keen wit …..and getting together with Dunc’s gang every few months to celebrate birthdays, etc.   Your unexpected passing was a shock to all who loved you and we will miss you dearly.   See you in the next life pal 🥰🤗❤️.

Lou was not only a wonderful neighbour, but an even better friend.
In the fifteen years or so that we knew each other, I don't think that I ever became accustomed to his quick, sardonic, self-deprecating wit that always left me laughing, whether the subject be serious or light!
We enjoyed Stage West and Rosebud Dinner Theatre productions together on many occasions.
Our morning breakfasts/brunches at a variety of locations in Strathmore were always full of interesting conversations, in many of which he introduced contrary points of view I hadn't previously considered, and which he had a knack of skillfully introducing to the conversation.
Although he was extremely organized mentally, physically it was as if he missed the digital revolution entirely, as evidenced by the masses of paper documentation covering almost every square metre of his main living area and basement.
We joked about it constantly as being the reason we always went out for lunch/brunch, as all of his table surfaces were otherwise occupied.
I'll miss you, Lou, more than I ever thought that I would.
Your bucket list (minus the camel ride) is now complete, so you can
rest in peace my friend.
