Dear Matheson Family

I am shocked and saddened to learn of Lorne's death - I just can't believe it. I met Lornie in Lennoxville at Champlain Regional College. We dated for a long time and I can honestly say he was my first true love. Such a wonderful person and very funny - he always made me laugh. Like all things, we grow up and move on. While Lornie stayed in Edmonton, I moved back to Montreal and then onto Toronto where I'm happily married to a wonderful man named Peter. I saw Lorne's picture and apart from the gray hair (which we all have now!) he looks the same as he did at 18. Wendy, although we have never met, I send you my deepest sympathies at this time. I will always remember with fondness Lorne's wonderful personality and warm heart.

Although I have not seen Lorne since high school/CEGEP, I was shocked and saddened to read about Lorne's death in the Sherbrooke Record. I will always remember the fun times we had, and the crazy things he did. By a strange coincidence, I was just telling my niece about the really bad perms the guys on the basketball team got from the high school hairdressing students. My thoughts are with you.

Dear Wendy and "The Matheson Family"
I am at a loss for words....I am so Sorry to hear the news of Lornes passing Wendy.I sat here to write this and a tear each time trickles down my face.I guess I'll start at the beginning When the Mathesons moved to the neighbourhood and with all the kids their was an instant road hockey team that would have been when I was 13 (or Thirty-seven years ago)They got dubbed the "Bob" family after the all they did live on Walton Street I think that was Gary or Greg the came up with the caption. Lornie and I did just about everything you can think of from all sports. We played football together ,we went to Grad together went to College.We grew up togther,Lornie and Bruce taught me to smoke in grade 8 (cause we were so cool and mature)
When things ended in college we followed ours brothers the find our riched in the west.We lived together for a while and then the boys moved to 67 Wolf Crescent and the big house.It was their by the pool that Lornie told me that  he was heads over heels in love with you ,and he thought you were the one! It wasn't long before he moved to Calgary to be with his dream girl. I realize that we didn't see you guys much in Calgary. But we had a freindship with the entire Matheson family that we did have to explain who we were,we were just ourselves.Lornies happy, fun, silly and mischievous personality I know will be sorrowly missed in this world.I will always miss the thought of Lorne being home when we go back. I will miss him in my heart and I will take that to my grave. I miss you all and love you all.

Our hearts are heavy with sadness. Many great memories of time spent in Gould and Boxing days in Sherbrooke, Lorne always there to make people laugh. Sympathies to Wendy and all the wonderful Matheson Family. Love you all.

My heart goes out to all of Lorne's family....to Wendy, whom I have never met...and to all my cherished friends in the Matheson and Wintle families..I can remember Irene having the 3 O'Brien girls over to her house to watch the Sana Claus parade on TV..We did not have one at the time...She was very pregnant with Lorne at the time!!!  A few years later I was babysitting him and his brothers and sisters..and now I mourn his death  Hugs to all of you
