Kim was predeceased by his parents Lillian and Keith Tucker. We are certain when Kim gets to where he is going his parents will have a cold Coca-Cola and lemon/pumpkin pie waiting for him. Kim is survived by his sister Judi Tucker (Ivan); niece Jamie Dark (Kerry); nephew Travis Ekelund (Valerie), great-nephew Desmond Dark; and brother-in-law Andrew Ekelund. Throughout his life Kim was fortunate to have many friends and caregivers that cherished and loved him.
Kim was born on October 4, 1953 in Edmonton Alberta. Growing up in Calgary and well into his adult life he was an active member of the community. Kim had a passion for all sports, music, his many dogs, great food and celebrations.
Kim’s passing has left a huge void in our lives, life is forever changed. His kind, clever, playful personality had a profound impact on all those who were fortunate to cross paths with him. His spirit would light up a room. He left a mark no matter where he went and truly touched so many lives. Kim loved the times where he could sit in front of a fireplace with a coke in hand, a whistle in the other while watching a sports game on TV and enjoying a good chat with a friend.
Strong, resilient and sometimes stubborn Kim was determined to fight to the very end. He was running a marathon and eventually his lungs decided it was time. We have comfort knowing he passed peacefully and can now rest.
Kim’s family is forever grateful to all the dedicated caregivers and advocates over the years that supported him throughout his life. Special thanks to Dr. Christopher Morse and Dr. Michael Hill for their continual support along with the compassionate team at the South Health Campus.
