After a courageous battle with cancer, Joe passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 with his family by his side. Joe was born in Toishan, Guangdong, China on August 8, 1932. He immigrated to Regina, SK in 1952 and married Lin in 1958. The family moved to Calgary in 1963 where Joe spent most of his life, with a short stint in B.C. Cooking was his forte, operating a successful restaurant in Clinton, B.C. and working as head chef at the Royal Canadian Legion in Calgary. He was a kind, gentle and loving husband, father and grandfather. Joe will be greatly missed by his wife Lin; children Allan (Helen) Gee, Raymond Gee, Sherry (David) Leung; and four grandchildren Michael Gee, Daniel Gee, Lauren Leung and Carly Leung. He also leaves behind his younger sister Fung Ling Ma (Shek-Fan Ma) and was predeceased by his older sister Fong Sue Hom. A Visitation will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., with internment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes, if so desired, may be made directly to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 - 29 Street N.W. Calgary, AB, T2N 4N2.
