Jason Alexander Smiley, age 37, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 21, 2016. He was born on August 15, 1978 in Calgary, Alberta. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Jacki Huss and their daughter’s Randi and Grace, his mother, Jon-ella Smiley (Don Sherman); his sisters Shandra (Aaron) Rudy, Chaya (Chris) Campbell, Amy (Paul) Sherman, Angelina (Luc) Quintieri, Jamie Piea, Jacquie (Ashley) Hansen; his brother, Jeremy (April) Sherman; his grandfather, Don (Sylvia) Good; his grandmother, Dorothy Brown; Jacki’s parents, Shelley and Dale Peterson; his nieces, Emily, Bailey, Maya, Gabriella, and Addison; his nephews, Ben, Tyler, Jaxon, and Reid and so many important foster brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, and other loving relatives in Canada, USA, Ireland and Scotland. He is predeceased by his brother, Michael, and grandparents, Alexander and Robin Smiley.
Jason graduated from Highwood High School in 1996 and went onto his various adventures. He later found his passion in the fracturing industry which allowed him to travel throughout Canada and the USA.
He loved his family, friends, travelling and adventure. He lit up any room he entered with a zest for life that was infectious.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Sheraton Hotel – Special Events Centre, 3310 - 50 Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, accounts have been set up for the continuous support of Randi and Grace, donations may be made directly to Jacki Huss or Regan Davis at STEP.
