James “Jimmy” Kinnon Clark born April 6, 1920, in Windsor, ON passed away at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at the age of 95 years. He started playing baseball and basketball in Toronto, ON continuing on when he joined the RCAF. After the war Jim met Margaret Joan Clark, his wife of 68 years, and started their lives with an adventure in Bogota, Columbia in the oil business. He returned in 1949 to Edmonton, AB before settling in Calgary, AB. Jim worked for various companies before ending up with Shell Canada where he spent more than 25 years as a land man. He enjoyed working at Shell and took advantage of their innovative fitness program and facilities which he continued to use for many years after his retirement. In Jim’s 95 years he was a picture of health, only once in the hospital for a broken bone and was never known to have taken anything stronger than an aspirin. He demonstrated the true Calgary volunteer spirit by volunteering as a reading grandparent in elementary programs, at the 1988 Olympics and as a “White Hatter” at YYC. Jim was also recognized by the Red Cross for giving more than 100 donations of blood. He was a lifelong Stampeder and Flames fan. Jim lead by example in the family, always dressed impeccably including spit polished shoes, which his sons tried to emulate. Around friends and family he always displayed a quiet demeanor, but had a depth of knowledge and understanding that surprised people. Jim was preceded in death by his oldest son Paul Clark. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Joan Clark; son Barry (Wendy); daughters Lori (Jim) Kromm and Susan (Brad) Sharun; and daughter-in-law Mavis (Paul) Clark. Jim is also survived by: two grandchildren Lindsay Kromm of Toronto, ON and Lauren (Greg) Rutherford; and his brother Robert (Dona) Clark from London, ON. As per his wishes no services will be held.
