Irving Arthur Steele

Irving Steele passed away peacefully in Calgary on May 21, 2020 at the age of 92 years of age. He was born in Red Deer, spent his early years in the Isle of Man, and lived the majority of his life in Calgary, Alberta.

Irving was well respected throughout the construction engineering industry and enjoyed many hobbies including RC airplanes and proudly gaining his pilot license well into his 80’s. With a passion for life and loyalty to family, his journey was long, well loved and filled with great wit and engaging conversation.

He is lovingly remembered by his sister Heather Swainson; daughter Daphne Louise (Alex) Dabisza, Cindy (Mike) Chauncey; son/son-in-law Scott (Mauna) Matthews, Tom (Kathleen) Milosz; his grandchildren Carri Milosz, Vikki (Ian) Boyd, Ryan (Rachel) Dabisza, Jacqueline Dabisza, Michelle (Matt) Rose; his loving great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Katie Steele. He was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Elsie Steele, sister Mona Cruickshank, brother Eric Steele, wife Irene (Hodgson), followed by wife Carol (Matthews-Berry), and daughter Debra Faye Milosz.

We would like to thank the many family members, close friends and caregivers that offered support during the last leg of his journey.

The family looks forward to celebrating Irving and honouring his life at a later date.
