Helen was born in Govan, SK on October 10, 1917. She was the second youngest child of six children born to Gunder and Mary Alicia Lakness. In 1939 she married Frank and together they established a homestead west of Govan which was the site of many memorable family gatherings. Helen was a wonderful homemaker; her dinners and baking were second to none! She volunteered with various organizations within her community and the care and kindness she shared with all were evident. We will miss the unconditional love and affection she had for us all.
At her request a graveside service will be held in Govan at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, (15 Colonel Baker Place NE, Calgary, AB T2E 4Z3).
