April 9, 1947 – December 21, 2023
Helen was born in Calgary, Alberta, and grew up in Airdrie. She met Monty, who became her husband in 1970. Helen was dedicated to everything she put her hands to, evidenced by 40 years of working at SAIT, 50 years of being a mom, and her greatest joy in life, 21 years of being a grandparent.
Helen is Survived by her daughter and best friend, Amanda McChesney (Clarke), Grandson, Hunter McChesney, Sister and Travel companion, Eileen Tiedeman and brother, Robert Morris (Gwen). Helen was predeceased by her beloved family; parents, Jim and Lillian Morris, her husband, Monty Poulson, and brother-in-law, Ken Tiedeman.
Helen created so many memories with her family and close friends. Watching her grandson play hockey and lacrosse was her absolute favourite thing to do and she attended most games and events. Volunteering whenever there was a chance, camping, and hanging out with cherished friends, with a cup of coffee in her hands, brought her almost as much joy as it did those around her. She did love her coffee!
Helen's kindness and generosity were best represented by her volunteer time at the Veterans Association Thrift Store, her constant effort and endless compassion for everyone she met will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be hosted by Helen's immediate family Amanda, Clarke, and Hunter at her favourite place to eat, Mr. Schnapps Restaurant, 1440 - 52 Street NE, Calgary, Alberta on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 2:00 pm. This will be an Open House gathering and will wrap up around 4 pm.
Whether you attend or are unable to, thank you for your well wishes and love. The family appreciates you all.
