It is with great sadness that the family of Gordon Lovatt announces his passing on December 12, 2024, at the age of 78 in Calgary, AB, where he was born and raised. Gordon spent almost his entire life in the community of Mount Pleasant.
Gordon worked for the federal government for 30 years; a show of service and dedication to the public. His passions included a love for racing thoroughbred horses, a hobby he enjoyed for over 15 years. He also appreciated racing pigeons, a long-standing tradition passed down through the generations of Gordon’s family. From the time he was little until he was physically unable, he could be found out in the wilderness, hunting and fishing with his friends and family. Gordon’s love for the outdoors left a lasting impression on all those who knew him.
Gordon is survived by his brothers, Ken and Ross. He was predeceased by his parents, Ruth & Philip, and his sister, Barb.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate team at the Bethany Care Centre, especially nurses Norma and Cora, for their loving care and support during Gordon's final weeks.
In accordance with Gordon’s wishes, there will be no formal service.
