It is with broken but loving hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald Boyd after a short illness in Calgary, Alberta on Sunday, April 24, 2022.
Left with wonderful memories are daughter Judy (Greg Hertz), son Gary (Margaret), granddaughter Stephanie McKeon, Melbourne, Australia, Weston and Lillian Boyd, Stephenville and loving nieces in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Gerald was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Jean Christine Boyd (Greenland).
Gerald left Newfoundland and attended Nova Scotia Technical Institute followed by Dalhousie University where he graduated as a Civil Engineer. He had a long career in Engineering with Texaco Canada and then Imperial Oil. Loving compassionate care was given to Gerald the past 7 years by Wentworth Manor, Calgary and he considered the staff his second family. The staff exemplified what nursing truly is. We wish to thank the Foothills staff on Unit 72 for their compassionate end of life care of our loving Dad.
Cremation will take place and the remains will be brought back to Newfoundland at a later date. He will be dearly missed by his family, his dog Ryley and his many friends.
