For much of his teaching career George taught science (primarily physics) and math courses at Semiahmoo High School in White Rock (later South Surrey), eventually teaching the children of past students. He was personally interested in Creation Science, and volunteered as the president of the Creation Science Association of BC for decades. George enjoyed gospel music; he sang in a variety of church choirs and small groups.
