I miss my grandpa but he is at peace now Rest in peace grandpa

It’s been a week since we all went to your funeral grandpa! A week since we laid you down to rest. A week with many mixed emotions of tears, sadness, grief, emptiness , and why we couldn’t have more time with you! I can’t imagine the pain and sadness grandma is feeling without you there. We may not have been close these last few years and for that I’m sorry. You were and always will be special to me. When I was little it always made my day to talk to you and talk your ear off about school or random things. I remember coming down to visit you and grandma and you always warned me about chucky and I thought I could be friends with that cat and nope he’d always hiss at me and I’d call you or grandma to come get chucky so I could leave then bathroom and go somewhere else. I have so many memories of you and all the times we shared together. You always made jokes to make us laugh. You had a sense of humour that nobody will forget. I know you’re not in anymore pain. We all miss you today tomorrow and forever! I love you so much grandpa! Rip until we meet again! ❤️❤️

Diane and Family, 
I am thinking of all of you going through this sad and difficult time, life will just simply not be the same without George,   When I first met George And Diane, they instantly became  family, We visited weekly. We also attended the breakfast club and enjoyed each and every visit with our fellow neighbors. 
No matter how you were feeling George always brought us all together and made us laugh, he had the greatest sense of humor, and he never complained no matter what he was going through.

I have never known of a man to love his wife so much  and always so grateful, , he always showed Diane how much he loved her. I could tell their love was deep from the moment I met them.   The gratitude that he showed Diane as well as  the love was just unbelievable. He was constantly telling her he loved her, kissing her hand, pulling her close  
George will always be with you Diane, but in a different way, he will be watching over you giving you strength and difficult days and making sure that you eventually get that Kitty!   🐈‍⬛ Always here for you Diane, Love you♥️

I only had the pleasure of meeting Greorge a few times, however after the very first time you were family and he made you feel very loved. George always had a quick comment or a joke to make others smile and laugh. He was such a beautiful person. George loved to talk about his family and was so proud of his grandkids. I loved to watch how much he adored his loving wife Diane, and the love she showed him. George you will always be remembered with love.

Dear Diane:
Rick and I are so sorry  for your loss. But we know you’ll carry on and that George will be beside you constantly and especially cheering the Flames on, from  wherever he is. 

We remember George’s gruff  voice, which may have frightened a few people but disguised his kind demeanour; he was quite a marshmallow—tougher on the outside but a real softy underneath.

I (Deb) especially remember the many  mornings that George drove me to Mount Royal University when I taught 8:00 a.m. classes and then  went on his way to pick up his bus at Southland for his morning run. He always spoke fondly about “his” school kids. 

We’ll miss him terrorizing the street on his scooter and always being interested in how all the neighbours were doing.

Such wonderful memories of times spent together sharing coffees, brunches, birthdays and holidays.

My name is Kayla Cummings, I’m George’s granddaughter from his daughters Kim’s side. I have so many memories of my grandpa. But my favourite one is when he visited me in the hospital after I had my oldest daughter Aubree and she was under the lights for jaundice. And grandpa took his bottom teeth out and said “here kiddo you’re gonna need these” we all had a good laugh! I know my grandpa and I weren’t really close but man he was special to me. I loved his sense of humour and how he always made my brothers and I laugh and smile! I’m gonna miss you grandpa! I love you grandpa. I will always tell my kiddos about you ❤️

My names mark Cummings I’m one of George’s grandchildren from his daughter Kim. I remember when we were kids, he use to take his teeth out and make jokes at us about his false teeth. Always made me my brother and sister laugh there weren’t days that when we were young kids there’s nothing you wouldn’t do to make us smile. I’m going to miss you grandpa we weren’t always the closest but you’re still my grandpa and I’m going to miss you love you
