Fiona Stewart

May 12, 1964 – January 19, 2013

Fiona passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Calgary, AB after living courageously with multiple myeloma for the last two years. Dearly beloved mother of Charlotte Olivia Westbury Stewart; youngest daughter of Richard and Nancy Westbury; dear sister of John Westbury, Liz Westbury, Ellie Westbury and brother-in-law George Taven; Charlotte’s honourary uncle Pedro Siqueira; much loved aunt of Allister Hutcheson and Nicholas, Anna, Katrina and Daniel Taven. Her relatives in Australia include Aunts Isobel Lucas, Shirley Habgood, Bess McAllister, Uncle Charles (Nancye) McAllister and cherished cousins. Fiona graduated from Ernest Manning Senior High (1982); at the University of Calgary she earned a B.A. in Philosophy (1991) and a B.Ed. Masters of Teaching (2006). She then taught English at Henry Wise Wood Senior High School. She maintained several friendships which began when she was a little girl attending Wildwood Elementary School. Her proudest accomplishment was being the mother of her beautiful daughter Charlotte. Fiona was a gentle, kind, loyal person who loved sunshine, travelling, and the colour purple. Our family holidays at Kootenay Lake will not be the same without her. To those of you who are healthy and able to donate blood, doing so would be a tribute to Fiona’s memory. A Celebration of Fiona’s Life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
