Ernie was a paratrooper in WWII. He then spent 20 years in the coal mines and moved his family from England to Canada in 1966. He retired from the City of Calgary and enjoyed travelling, eating good fish and chips, watching English football and visiting Tim Hortons.
He is survived by his six children, Phillip, Roger, Pauline, Paul, Eric and Audrey; his 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Ernie is predeceased by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Audrey.
Many thanks to the staff and caregivers at the Southwood Care Centre for the loving compassion shown to dad.
