Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother had lived a rich and deeply fulfilling life. Emma was born in Taruntino, Bessarabia on March 12, 1932. She had a humble upbringing with her parents guiding her. After the War, her family immigrated to Canada in 1952 and eventually settled in Calgary. Where she found the love of her life, Edward Tober. They were blessed with 50 years of marriage. Her fulfillment in marriage came with gardening, being with her family, cooking tasty home cooked meals, whether for her own kids or with her grandkids.
Emma is lovingly remembered by her two children, Ronald Tober and Evelyn Friess (Alwin); six grandchildren, Aaron (Catherine), David and Rachel Tober, Nathan, Wanda and Peter Friess and her great grandchild Oliva. She is also survived by her sister Erna Gill, as well as many nephews and nieces. Emma is predeceased by her husband, Edward Tober; her parents, Immanuel and Anna Rosa Mutschell, as well as her two brothers, Alfred and Robert.
A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., with the Pastor Dean Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow at Queens Park Cemetery.
