Edwin Maxwell Walker

July 27, 1907 – August 22, 2011

Edwin Maxwell Walker passed away in Calgary, AB on August 22, 2011 at 104 years of age. He was born on July 27, 1907 in Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Ned will be lovingly remembered by his son Robert; daughter Doreen; grandchildren Maureen, Christine and Karen; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; sister Esther; sister-in-law Margaret, Mattie, and friends in the George Boyack Health Centre and Bow Valley Lodge. Ned was predeceased by his father George and mother Martha, his beloved wife Winifred, three brothers and three sisters and many friends. Ned was a survivor of the World War I great Halifax explosion. He moved to Calgary in 1924 and worked for Imperial Oil Company until his retirement. Ned loved sports and played baseball, curling and was an ardent crib player. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Interment will take place at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations in Ned’s memory may be made directly to the charity of one’s choice. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
