Donald Gordon MacKenzie passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta on Monday, May 4, 2020.
Donald was born in Ottawa, Ontario on December 9, 1947 and eventually moved out west to Calgary, Alberta. He had a long career as a horse farrier, which was fueled by his passion for helping animals. He often joked he understood horses better than humans. Many knew him as a stubborn hard-working man who was dedicated to his family.
Donald is survived by his daughter Meghan (Chad), brother John MacKenzie, sister Johanne Bordon, and close friend Stuart Saunders. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Olena MacKenzie, mother and father Ena and William MacKenzie.
