Debbie Bray left this life peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta.
Debbie will be lovingly remembered by her husband Bob Bray; her children, Emily Bray (Mark Boos), Tasha Bray (Alex Goudine), and Mack Bray. She is survived by her parents David and Doreen Hanna. She is predeceased by her only sister, Donna Iredale, July 10, 2019.
Debbie grew up in Calgary and obtained a BSC in Biology followed by a second BSC in Geology graduating in 1978. Debbie worked as a geologist initially at Canadian Hunter Exploration and then with Shell Oil Canada until moving to Cambridge, UK in 1985. She returned to Calgary in 1988. Debbie obtained further formal education and became an instructor of Information Systems at Mount Royal College in 1989.
After the birth of Emily, Debbie dedicated herself to her family and children creating a safe, wonderful and loving environment for them to grow up in. Debbie also managed a busy home office where she ran the business of her Professional Corporation.
Debbie’s passions were people and creating unique works of art using the mediums of paint on paper, sculpture, and unique fabric art forms winning multiple accolades and awards for her work among her colleagues and the larger community of Artists in Calgary.
Debbie loved spending time with her family but most particularly when they gathered at their summer cottage on Shuswap Lake. She adored being close to nature, where she saw beauty in every aspect of it.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wellspring Centres of the Tom Baker Cancer Center.
