It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Connie Tracy Lee, at the age of 41. Connie passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at home in Calgary, Alberta surrounded by loved ones, after a challenging battle with cancer.
Connie led a wonderfully rich life which began on August 28, 1982. She was born to Linda Chu Lee and Wai Hop Lee, in Calgary, AB. Connie wasted no time. It is incredible the amount she accomplished in her brief time on earth.
After growing up in Calgary, she went out into the world to complete numerous years of higher education, including obtaining a MBA as well as her Masters in Social Work. This allowed Connie to actualize her true calling in life, becoming a psychotherapist. She established her own private practice and had a thriving business helping her clients (and friends) through all of life’s challenging situations. She had great purpose and was passionate about helping others.
Connie was much more than her work. She was an avid traveler, runner, food lover, enjoyed a good nightlife, and most importantly loved to be with other people. She set her feet in several oceans and on 6 continents, ran a marathon and many more miles, ate countless amazing meals, took in nature and the arts, explored new activities, and cultivated many enduring friendships along the way.
Connie was a very thoughtful person, who always ensured everyone around her felt her light. She felt energized by social connections, and helped others thrive. She knew life was precious and she should make the most of it, long before her cancer diagnosis. She led a vibrant life and always did it in style. Connie made an impression on this world and will continue her joie de vivre in the afterlife.
Connie is survived by her parents, Linda Chu Lee and Wai Hop Lee, sister, Joy (Sherwin); brothers Peter (Mona) and Tony (Anna), nieces Lauren and Sarina, nephews James, Ryan, Marcus, Max, and Thomas. Her chosen family- her circle of friends in Calgary, Toronto, New York and around the world will also grieve her passing.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery).
