So he wrapped you in his loving arms and whispered, “Come with me”.
You suffered much in silence,
Your spirit did not bend,
You faced your pain with courage,
Until the very end.
You tried so hard to stay with us,
Your fight was all in vain,
God took you in his loving arms,
And saved your from all the pain.
It is with great sadness that the family of Colleen Pearson announces her passing on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 our beloved mother and grandmother.
Her memory will be cherished by her loving family, Don, Nadine, Joanne, Chris, Gary, Sherry, Lijah, Brandon and Sam.
Our mother grew up in Vernon and in 1956 married Harvey William Pearson. They left Vernon for Penhold and Edmonton, and were transferred overseas to Belgium, France and Germany, returning to Gimli, Manitoba in 1968 and onto to Summerside, PEI in 1971, until returning to Edmonton in 2000. Although away from her mother, brothers and sisters and their extended families, Colleen remained in touch and always had fond memories of them. She worked for the Department of Defense and retired at the age of 65 in Calgary, Alberta.
She was kind, humble, loving woman and was a joy to be around. Her keen sense of humor, kept us smiling always. She will truly be missed by all that had the pleasure to know her.
Rest in peace.
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways.
Of happy times and laughing times and bright sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun.
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Colleen’s memory directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, (https://www.heartandstroke.ca/).
