Clifford Lear

Cliff leaves to mourn his two sons Jeff Lear (Julia) of Dundas, Ontario, Robin Lear (Theresa) of Calgary Alberta, and daughter Kelly Langner (Rudy) of Surrey, British Columbia. Cliff will be greatly missed by grandchildren Mackenzie and Cameron (Calgary, AB). Cliff was predeceased by his wife Myrtle Wynant (2008).

Born on April 22, 1937 in Winnipeg, MB. Cliff was the only child of Walter and Irene Lear and lead an eventful life rich in experience and lasting friendships. He enjoyed growing up in the neighbourhood of St. Vital and has many lifelong friends including Norm Claydon. He lived most of his adulthood in Western Canada working in Vancouver, Thompson, Manitoba and Fort McMurray Alberta. He enjoyed working with people and much of his career was in human resources and advocating for employees of INCO and Syncrude. Cliff had a tremendous talent in music and singing and he played several instruments including trumpet, saxophone, accordion and drums.

Cliff was married several times and in retirement he married his high school sweetheart, Myrtle Wynant and returned to his roots in Winnipeg. He enjoyed cottage living at Hillside Beach and the many friendships at the lake. He was an avid reader and loved long walks with his dogs. Following the passing of his wife Myrtle in 2008, Cliff lived with his son Jeff in Dundas Ontario making many new friends and enjoying the staff and activities of the St. Joseph's Villa day program. Most recently, Cliff returned to Western Canada to live with son Robin and spend time with his young grandchildren which he treasured.

Cliff was a generous and kind man who rewarded friends and family with a passion and zest for life. He was a lover of good music and fine wine, engaging humour, sharp wit and the company of others who he shared many entertaining stories based on an eventful life. He was quick with a smile and enriched the lives of those he met with his good nature and pleasant disposition. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA.

A memorial service will be held in August 2013 in Winnipeg Manitoba. The date is still to be determined.
