Jean was born on May 5th, 1941, in Guangdong province of China and was the youngest of four siblings.
She is survived by her husband Henry Wong and four children. Her only son, Wayne Wong (Rachel) and three daughters, twins Gladys Wong and Joy Choww (Colin) and June Clark (Stewart). She also has four beautiful grandchildren, Alyssa, Chelsea, Dylan, and Maddison.
Jean arrived in Canada in 1964 where the family resided in a small town called Quill Lake in Saskatchewan. The family moved to Wadena in 1974 to start up a great Canadian Chinese restaurant called Dave's Diner till they retired in 1990 to Saskatoon. She loved mingling and interacting with all the customers. They ended up moving to Calgary to be closer to family and enjoy their retirement.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and cooking for her family. During her downtime, she loved to watch daytime soap operas in both English and Chinese and to go for daily mini walks.
Until her untimely passing she stayed at Wing Kei Greenview Supportive Living and Long-Term Care in her final years.
She was a beautiful wife, mother and friend and will be missed dearly.
A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM.
The family has requested masks to be worn during the service.
