1935 – 2017
Henry ‘Bev’ Boone, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital, with friends and family by his side, on June 16, 2017. He was born on October 8, 1935 in Bath, New Brunswick. His parents Henry & Alice Boone raised him on their family farm. He became a teacher and taught until he joined the military. There, he served our country in a number of different roles around the world.
After leaving the military his love for humanity, prompted him to serve people in the helping profession of human services. In the process, he encountered a young boy that needed someone. Bev became Randy’s guardian and has loved him unconditionally ever since. As time went by, Bev was blessed with 2 grandsons, Michael and Shawn; together they were the apple of his eye.
Bev was dedicated to serving Canada but more importantly, in his later years, he dedicated his life to serving the Lord. When he left Fort McMurray and came to Calgary he was reunited with the faith he grew up in as a child. He wholeheartedly embraced the people and ministers of his faith and chose them as his extended family. Bev spent his last few years in Care Centers and was very thankful for the kindnesses and visits of his friends, family and ministers.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Randy Ferguson; grandchildren, Michael Ferguson-Hicks and Shawn Ferguson-Hicks; their mother Serena Hicks; and many family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Alice Boone.
A Celebration Bev’s of Life will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate), on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
