She enjoyed traveling and she loved her family more than anything. Alice was a godly woman but by no means stoic...she always had a smile on her face, enjoyed a good joke and was always laughing or singing. She loved her Flames and Stamps and loudly cheered for them.
The Kolke motto was "idle hands…" and so she learned at an early age to use her hands in a productive manner. She would sew, knit and crochet...if it could be made by hand, she and her sisters would figure out how to get it done, and then share their new information and pretty soon we all had one of the same thing, just in a different colour!
To her brothers and sisters she was affectionately known as Toots and became "Auntie Toots" to her nieces and nephews, but was also known as "Auntie Alice" to many as well.
She was selfless, kind and caring. She was patient and a great teacher. She loved children and many would come to love her as family. She was accepting and compassionate and was always willing to help, no matter the circumstances. She touched many lives in such a positive way.
She beat pneumonia and Covid.
