Alan was born on August 12, 1961, in Grande Prairie, Alberta. For his first seven years he lived in Grande Prairie and on the family farm in the Goodwin area. He then moved, with his family, to Calgary.
Alan enjoyed participating in all kinds of sports. He graduated from St. Francis High School, where he was a member of the football and wrestling teams. After holding a number of jobs, as a young adult, Alan found his place in the military.
Alan enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force where he proudly served his country for almost 30 years. His service took him around the world with humanitarian and peace-keeping missions, in areas that included Africa, Turkey, and Haiti. He also deployed, at various times, to the Middle East, Croatia, and Afghanistan. Alan retired from the Air Force at Comox, B.C. He remained there for a few years before returning to Calgary, AB., where he resided until his passing.
Alan was a proud Canadian. He was particularly proud of the fact that he had visited every province and territory of this nation.
Alan is survived by his brother, Richard Caza; and his sister Mary (nee Caza) Morrison (George). He is also survived by three nephews and four nieces, Michael Caza; Lorianne (Morrison) Gela; Kirk Morrison (Susan); Ginger Morrison-Baker (Marvin); Kimberly Vetter (Jeremy); James Vetter; Kristina (Vetter) Ruscheinski (Tyson); and many great nieces and nephews. We would also like to acknowledge three childhood friends, Ron, Gary, and Randy, who were like brothers to Alan, and who have remained close friends throughout his life. He was predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Anne Caza; his sister, Jeannine (nee Caza) Vetter; and his sister-in-law, Diane Caza.
The interment and graveside service will be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery, Wednesday, April 12, at 11:00 A.M.
A Celebration of Life for Alan Timothy (Al) Caza, will take place at 1:00 P.M. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Chapelhow Branch 284; 606 – 38 Ave. N.E. Calgary.
