Scott A. Boerman, age 53, died unexpectedly Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Scott loved God, loved his family, and loved his Michigan Wolverines. He had an incredible brain for numbers and trivia. He supported his daughters at horse shows and the softball field, and was known for his “Dad jokes." He was kind, easygoing, and would travel anywhere he was invited, including ten cruises. He was a lifelong member of First Reformed Church of Byron Center and a proud Byron Center Bulldog class of 1989.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Boerman. He is survived by his wife, Shelly; daughters Whitney Rose and Cameryn Rachele; father, Orville Boerman; siblings Twyla Shaffer, Delwyn (Dawn) Boerman, Nancy Herring, and Pam (Mike) Gregorski; brother-in-law, Randy Bennett; and many nieces and nephews, both biological and “bonus” ones.
There will be a celebration of life open house style gathering from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the Hangar (formerly the Rock), 2464 84th St. SW, Byron Center, Michigan. Light refreshments will be served. At 3:30 p.m. there will be a short time of scripture, prayer, and remembrance. We encourage you to wear Maize and Blue, as Scott would have wanted. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresbyron.com in their guestbook online.
