Gary Lee Goorhouse

Gary Lee Goorhouse, age 64, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 24, 2022. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Gloria Goorhouse and sister, Jody Lynn Goorhouse. He will be remembered by his children Kyle Goorhouse and Mitchell Goorhouse; sister, Jill (Tim) Wright; brother, Brian (Nancy) Goorhouse; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and walking through the woods. He spent a majority of the hunting seasons of his life in the fields and woods around Morley, including public state land, and he enjoyed fishing near his family home overlooking the Little Muskegon River. Gary was also a gifted athlete who excelled in many sports. He participated in various sports at Byron Center High School, played softball for Steelcase, and bowled and golfed on various leagues. Gary enjoyed his years at Steelcase, as well as his employment at Tullymore Golf Resort tending the courses and grounds. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all, especially his furry companion Kit-Kat, who never left Gary's side.

Visitation with friends and relatives will take place from 4 - 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. An open celebration of Gary’s life will commence immediately following at 6 p.m. Pastor Bruce Streelman will be officiating.
