Gail Ann Lewis

Gail Ann (Morsman) Lewis, age 72, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Gail was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Jean Morsman; and son, Stewart. She will be remembered by her husband of 50 years, Craig Lewis; daughter, Sarah Lewis; sisters Beth Ann and Mary Ann Morsman; and many other family members and friends. She will also be greatly missed by Gigi’s angels, Aubrey and Julia DaVeiga, and their parents Brandi and Thomas.

Gail’s career included time at Perrigo, Phoenix Designs / Miller SQA, and Grand Rapids Public Schools, before finally retiring from St. Mary’s Visitation School after several years as principal. She maintained friendships from all these places as well as from childhood, early married days while Craig was in the Navy, and 40 plus years living in Allegan. In retirement, Gail enjoyed knitting, traveling, volunteering, and card making. Anyone lucky enough to receive a handmade card from her could see how much love went into it.

Visitation with friends and relatives will take place from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2023, with a Vigil starting at 5:45 p.m., at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th Street, Byron Center, MI 49315. A Funeral Mass for Gail will commence 11 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2023 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315, with an hour of visitation prior to Mass. In honor of Gail and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Catholic Central Fund or the American Diabetes Association.
