Dorothy Vander Meulen was born in Randolph, Wisconsin May 10, 1937. From a young age, Dottie enjoyed music, whether playing the piano, organ, or singing in the choir. She often accompanied her favorite soloist, Russ, and loved playing in church or providing entertainment for those around her. She had a bright, friendly energy and sense of humor that endured even after her Alzheimer's diagnosis. Dottie also enjoyed family camping trips, longer travel adventures during retired life with Russ, and time at Barlow and Gun Lakes during the summer. In winter, Dottie and Russ created many memories with friends in Florida at Golf Lakes, singing, bowling, and sharing meals to celebrate special occasions, or just each new day! Later, she enjoyed time with Ron and Cook family members on Anna Maria Island. Dottie was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed many long-lasting friendships throughout her life.
Celebration of Dottie’s life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2023, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m., at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie Street SW, Grandville, Michigan 49418.
