Crystel May Imperi, age 42, passed away after a brief battle with brain cancer Saturday, May 25, 2024. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, James Imperi; grandparents Al and May Calkins, and Jack Powers. Crystel will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 18 years, Joseph Imperi; children Taylor, Brooke, and Joey Imperi; parents John and Melissa Powers; mother-in-law, Ann Imperi; sisters Mindy (Don) Farrington, Sara Powers (Kurt Welch); grandma, Barbara Powers; Joe’s siblings Sandy (Tim) Ray, Jim (Melissa) Imperi; best friend, Ashley (Michael) Carlton; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Crystel was always busy, but never too busy for her family and friends. She was president of the Byron Center School Board, served on the Pup Group in the Byron Schools, the board of Family Promise of West Michigan, and was vice president, director of the call center of Fifth Third Bank.
Visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 – 84th St. SW, Byron Center, Michigan. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave. SW, Byron Center, Michigan, Msgr. Bill Duncan presiding. Crystel’s urn will be placed in a niche at Resurrection Cemetery in Wyoming, Michigan.
